Adjunct Instructor of Game Engines and Production  

The School of MRRSC at the American University in Dubai is currently accepting applications for part-time Adjunct Instructors to begin teaching in Fall 2026. The area of specialization is Game Engines and Production.

This role involves teaching students both the technical and applied aspects of game development, including programming, engine architecture, and design principles. Candidates should have a deep understanding of game engines and hands-on industry experience.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Teach students the fundamentals of game engines, including both theoretical concepts and hands-on technical applications.
  • Lead advanced courses on programming game engines, by focusing on both the underlying technical architecture and high-level design integration.
  • Guide students through the development process from concept to completion.
  • Provide an in-depth understanding of game engine architecture, by helping students learn how to design, modify, and optimize game engines.
  • Collaborate with other faculty to integrate cross-disciplinary skills such as coding, art, and storytelling into game development projects.

The successful candidate should have:

  • A master’s degree (or higher) in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Game Development, or a related field.
  • Extensive experience with game engines like Unreal or Unity, including engine architecture, scripting, and optimization techniques.
  • Strong programming skills, with proficiency in C++, C#, or other game development languages.
  • A portfolio of games or engine modifications demonstrating technical expertise.
  • Prior teaching experience in game development, game design, or computer science is preferred.
 

Successful candidates will need to provide original academic transcripts.
 
The university has flexible timings, including morning, afternoon, and evening classes. 

These positions are part-time and suit those candidates already resident and under sponsorship in Dubai.
