Assistant/Associate Professor of Communication and Media Studies and Program Director of the Master of Arts in Leadership and Innovation in Contemporary Media
The Mohammed Bin Rashid School for Communication at the American University in Dubai invites qualified applicants for the position of Assistant/Associate Professor of Communication and Media Studies and Program Director of the Master of Arts in Leadership and Innovation in Contemporary Media to begin in the Spring 2025 semester.
The primary responsibility of the Program Director of the Master of Arts in Leadership and Innovation in Contemporary Media is to oversee the Master’s program. Under that capacity, the Program Director will provide academic and administrative direction for the program, teach and supervise program faculty and staff members. Also, the Program Director will assist the Associate Dean in administrative tasks when needed. Responsibilities will include teaching in the master program and if necessary, also in undergraduate level (Bachelor of Communication and Information Studies degree).
The successful candidate will have:
- A Ph.D. in Media or a related field from a Western accredited institution at the time of appointment;
- Strong research record and/or professional experience in Emerging Media;
- Excellent written and oral communication skills;
- Ability to work in a team
- Ability to lead and manage projects
The compensation package for this position is competitive and is based on the expatriate model. Besides tax-exempt basic salary, it includes housing, annual two-way airfare, health / life insurance, professional memberships, conference attendance expenses, assistance with children's tuition, and other components.
